Pig farming Willemsen is originally a mixed farm and has been in the family since 1903. In the period of the third generation, the farm has grown in terms of animal numbers. At the time, this was a growth in both dairy cattle and fattening pigs. Jan Willemsen and his family are currently the fourth generation at the helm of this company. The more than 1550 veal calves are divided into two groups. There is a considerable energy requirement for mixing the feed and all other activities.

Given the positive energy policy of the municipality of Putten, the idea soon arose for a wind turbine of its own in combination with solar panels. Especially the combination works very well. We have wind energy when there is little or no sun. Or the other way around.
That fits perfectly with the ambition to be completely disconnected from the mains. Officially that is of course not allowed, but in terms of consumption and yield it could be almost.

Economically a great step. Why pay for energy every month, when you can just arrange it yourself?

I have been running large wind turbines since 1994 and an agricultural company in the eastern hill country of SH since 2005, also with biogas and PV systems on the roofs.
I always wanted to cover my operational electricity needs from renewable sources and so I was looking for a supplement for the “dark” season in addition to the PV electricity that I used myself.
That is why I installed the BestWatt 30 as an “island system” in July 2019 and was able to optimally achieve my goal and even fill our 4 e-cars + the e-bike charger all year round.
I also see that the maximum added value is implemented.
My electricity consumption from the public grid was reduced by 99.5% today.
